"In Contrada" means in your neighborhood.

For Bryan and Sandra Pratt, it is also a place they first loved as members and now steward as owners: a vineyard and Italian kitchen where food, wine, and community meet close to home.

Why we're here

The Hill Country experience without the hour-long drive

Most Texas wineries ask you to drive out to Fredericksburg and make a day of it. In Contrada does the opposite: a working vineyard, a scratch-made Italian kitchen, and live music on your side of San Antonio, just 5 miles from home for so many of our guests.

The owners

Bryan & Sandra Pratt

Bryan and Sandra met at the United States Air Force Academy, beginning military careers that together spanned four decades. Their service and travels took them across the world and introduced them to the many ways culture, food, wine, and hospitality bring people together.

After more than 30 years in San Antonio, and journeys from Italy and France to South Africa, Argentina, and Australia, they found something special close to home at In Contrada. They were members for four years before becoming owners, building their own history here through favorite wines, shared meals, celebrations, and lasting memories with family and friends.

Today, Bryan and Sandra bring their love of family, food, wine, and community to a place they already cherish. They look forward to building on In Contrada's spirit and welcoming new friends to the table, close to home yet far from ordinary.

In Contrada Piccole Bolle, 2024 Best Sparkling award winner

Recognized

Our wine speaks for itself

At the 2024 Texas International Wine Competition, In Contrada took home Silver for the estate Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon and Bronze for the Merlot. Piccole Bolle, our Washington State sparkling, was named Best Sparkling, then earned Silver at the 2025 Lone Star International Wine Competition. We're also Restaurant Guru recommended and consistently five-star reviewed.

But the recognition we care about most is the regular who tells a friend, "you won't believe this place is right here in San Antonio."
